Serviio forum how to#
Here are two links which describe how to stream channels of a specific frequency with VLC. A typical stream URL might look like: mms://123.123.123. Supported protocols include http, mmsh, mmst, rtp, rtsp, apple http. These can be internet radio stations, SHOUTCast streams, live TV station broadcasts and similar. These can be internet radio stations, SHOUTCast streams, live TV station broadcasts and similar. Serviio supports live audio and video streams. In principle this is possible (as long as not 2 clients watch cannels on different frequencies on the same time.) But I don't know how to do this. Serviio supports live audio and video streams. In this case the configuration has to be made by parsing the URL. Both ways are not possible when you use Serviio in the middle. The typical way to solve this problem is to provide a website or telnet interface where you can change the frequency and later access the stream or installing a plugin or a driver on the streaming client which tells the server to change it. If you have watched at first one channel on one frequency and later want to watch another channel on another frequency you have to reconfigure your hardware. Other great apps like Plex are Emby, Stremio, Universal Media Server and Serviio. The problem is the following: It's simple to stream one specific Channel (like streaming BBC). Open your device and go to the Plex Forum or from another source. OK, using Serviio makes it much more complicated.
